Our Story

I have had a “crafting” addiction for as long as I can remember. Throughout my childhood, my mom would craft all sorts of items, which would spark my interest in wanting to create things myself. So as an adult, I tried my hand at tons of different things. But nothing interested me more than creating custom items using paint or vinyl. Owning my own business doing just that was always a dream, until now. Being a mom of 5 kiddos, with only 2 left at home, nothing was more important than wanting a job that would allow me to stay at home with them these last few years. So creating this business was a perfect idea.

The Sweet Magnolia Company was born in Arlington Tennessee, where my significant other, Brian, and I were residing at the time due to his job. Prior, he had been living in Signal Mountain (right outside of Chattanooga) and I was in Mississippi. I had the dream of owning my own business, which he embraced in his own hands, and fertilized it with his knowledge of business and technology, thus creating The Sweet Magnolia Company. Brian is the guy behind the scenes for the most part. He runs our website, handles the financial side of things, and even handles most of the shipping, all while working his own full time job. He is my right hand man, my business partner, as well as my life partner. Most recently, he has been working with wood, creating his own little business from within our company, designing keychains, wooden jewelry, clocks, and even crystal grid boards for another business and fellow friend. I am so excited to see just where his hands and creations take him and us.

And now last but not least, you may wonder why I chose the name. Brian and I were both born and raised in Mississippi, and well, as most of you may know, the Magnolia just happens to be our state flower. Even though I am now a resident of Tennessee, sticking to my roots was important. So I felt that “The Sweet Magnolia Company” was a perfect choice. No matter where life takes me (or us), Mississippi will always be “home!”
